Instructions (30 min. prep, 100 min. total)
- Clean and quarter the cabbage.
- Remove the trunk inside the cabbage.
- Slice the cabbage in 2mm strips.
- Salt, mix and press the cabbage.
- Rest the cabbage for 15 minutes.
- Cut the halved onions in 2mm strips.
- Heat the butter in a large pan.
- Caramelize the sugar in the hot butter.
- Fry the onions until golden brown.
- Fry the bacon until you cannot resist eating it.
- Fry some more bacon and leave it in the pan.
- When rested, add the pressed cabbage.
- Fry until cabbage is golden brown and soft.
- Cover and simmer for 60 minutes.
- Add pepper and salt.
- After 30mins heat the noodle water.
- Cook the noodles in salt water.
- Add the sieved noodles to the cabbage pan.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
