Ingredients (3 portions)

lentils red 150 gram
lentils green 150 gram
olive oil 2 tablespoon
flour 20 gram
onion 50 gram
garlic 2 cloves
bacon 100 gram
broth 0.5 liter
thyme 1 twig
laurel 2 leaf
vinegar 1 bedarf
[optional]
sausage 400 gram
carrot 400 gram
potato 2 pieces

Instructions (20 min. prep, 60 min. total)

  1. Green lentils need at least 30 minutes of cooking.
  2. Place green lentils in pot and cook.
  3. Heat the butter or oil in a pan.
  4. Continuously swirl the 20 gram flour into pan.
  5. Heat 0.5 liter of broth into same pan.
  6. Add thyme and laurel leaf and cook.
  7. Cut onion and bacon in 2mm cubes.
  8. Fry bacon then later add onion to fry as well.
  9. Add garlic to fry a little more.
  10. Add bacon and onions into broth.
  11. With 10 min left, add red lentils to green lentil.
  12. Add salt and pepper.
  13. [Add 2 tablespoons of vinegar.]
  14. Cook potatoes and carrots.
  15. Mix part of carrots, broth and lentils and all of the potatoes.
  16. Cook for another 20-30 minutes until lentils are bissfest.
  17. Serve with additional Hesperidenessig if desired.
