Gyoza / Jiaozi

Ingredients (4 portions)

pork minced 500 gram
chives 100 gram
salt 1 teaspoon
ginger 2 thumbs
garlic 4 cloves
water 400 ml
corn starch 4 tablespoons
wrapper 60 slices
friend 3 units
[marinade]
garlic 2 cloves
soy sauce 2 tablespoons
vinegar rice 2 tablespoons
oil sesame 2 teaspoons
oil chili 1 teaspoon

Instructions (40 min. prep, 60 min. total)

  1. Place the minced meat into a large bowl.
  2. Peal the ginger with a teaspoon;
  3. Cut the ginger into tiny pieces.
  4. Cut the garlic into tiny pieces.
  5. Cut chives into 2mm slices.
  6. Mix all with the minced meat.
  7. Add salt and knead again.
  8. Assemble good friends around a table.
  9. Teach them how to fold the dumplings.
  10. Assort about 15-20 dumplings in an oiled frying pan.
  11. Fry until crispy brown on the bottom.
  12. Each batch mix 1 tablespoon corn starch into water.
  13. Add 100 ml water and cover the frying pan.
  14. When water is gone, remove by flipping over onto a plate.
  15. By now, you should have mixed all the marinade ingredients.
  16. If you are still reading this, all dumplings have already been eaten.
  17. Repeat.

Comments

Add cornstarch while in frying pan.
Chives or spring onions work.
