Instructions (20 min. prep, 150 min. total)
- Cut the beef into 3cm cubes.
- Heat oil or butter in frying pan.
- Fry crispy the beef in portions of 200g.
- Remove to side.
- Cut half onions into rings.
- Cut the onions into 3mm cubes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pot.
- Fry the onions till golden brown. Watch closely not to burn them.
- Add meat back in.
- Cover and simmer at low heat for 1 hour.
- alternatively: Best in separate pan, add oil and at high heat fry the meat pieces till crispy.
- Mix all, reduce heat, prepare a glass with water.
- Add the paprika and flour into glass and stir up.
- Cut 2 garlic into thin slices.
- Keep 2 garlic cloves as whole.
- Add and stir in garlic slices, whole garlic cloves, laurel leaves, cumin, salt and pepper corns.
- Cover the pot and stir occasionally.
- Cut carrots into 1mm slices.
- Add carrots to pot and stir.
- Add 2 dashes of vinegar.
- Add 300ml broth.
- Openly simmer for 1 hour to soften the meat.
- Cover and simmer for another 2 hours.
