Fancy cabbage

Scharfer Chinakohl

Ingredients (2 portions)

cabbage white 1 piece
garlic 1 clove
onion spring 2 pieces
oil peanut 2 teaspoons
chili paste 2 teaspoons
salt 1 pinch
sugar 1 teaspoon
soy sauce 2 teaspoons
water 250 ml

Instructions (5 min. prep, 10 min. total)

  1. Tear off leaves, clean and dry the cabbage.
  2. Cut cabbage leaves into diagonal 2cm stripes.
  3. Cut garlic in 3mm cubes.
  4. Clean spring onion.
  5. Cut spring onion into 3mm slices.
  6. Heat peanut oil in wok until reaaaally hot.
  7. Add chili paste for 30 seconds.
  8. Add garlic until it seems fantastic.
  9. Add cabbage stripes for 1 minute.
  10. Add salt and water.
  11. Simmer covered for 3 minutes at low heat.
  12. Raise to medium heat.
  13. Mix in sugar, spring onion and soy sauce.
